One last post

No, I haven’t bought this amazing truck in these last days of my adventure 🙂 Just in case you were wondering. And I also haven’t met prince charming who would own this beautiful beast on four wheels (even though I wouldn’t mind 😉 ).

I “borrowed” it for a photo from an amazing German couple whose desire for a road trip, travelling and kiteboarding took them on a four-month adventure from Hamburg across Europe to Morocco with the ultimate goal of exploring the beaches and finding the best spots for kitesurfing (follow their blog!). No need to stress that they have been an inspiration, you know me by now.

Indeed, in this part of the world it is practically impossible not to meet people who are travelling overland in their “roadhouses”. I even met a couple who travelled through Mauritania and guess what? They told me that it was great and perfectly safe – so much for all those warnings not to attempt an overland crossing from Dakar to Dakhla alone… But this is something I knew, right? Well… next time. 🙂 Another lesson learned. 🙂

While you are reading these words, I’m actually on my way back to Europe, and this little post is my wrap up of the past three and a half months.

How was my little adventure? It was great. It was amazing. It was inspiring. It was very often very overwhelming. Exciting. It was incredible. There were many moments of pure joy and happiness. Many unforgettable people crossed my path. And I’ve learned many lessons. It was too short. It felt like freedom. I did things I had always wanted to but never got around to do them!

Thank you for being a part of this journey and I hope you will continue following me in my next challenge – how to settle back into “normal” life (or perhaps not). 😉
